“E be like dream to me I no know say na real life” – Burna Boy reacts after losing 4 Grammy nominations in one night (Video)
A circulating video on social media captures the reaction of popular Nigerian singer Burna Boy following his loss of all four Grammy nominations in a single night.
The 66th Grammy Awards ceremony took place on Friday, February 4th, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States. Despite receiving nominations, Burna Boy, along with other Nigerian artists including Davido, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide, failed to secure any awards.
Burna Boy had garnered four nominations for his work, including ‘Sitting On Top of the World‘ (Best Melodic Rap), ‘I Told Them’ (Best Global Music Album), ‘Alone‘ (Best Global Music Performance), and ‘City Boys‘ (Best African Music Performance).
While Burna Boy is already a Grammy Award winner, having clinched the Best Global Music Album at the 2021 ceremony, the surfaced video online reveals his evident shock and disappointment at not winning any of his recent nominations.
The clip, which features Burna Boy among his companions, captures him expressing disbelief, stating that it feels like a dream, and questioning the reality of the situation.
Despite his past successes and performances at the Grammy Awards, Burna Boy candidly admits that the experience doesn’t seem real to him.
In his words, “E be like dream to me i no know say na real life.”
