Nigerian global sensation Yemi Alade has achieved another historic milestone in her illustrious career.

The versatile singer and performer, recognized as the first female Nigerian artist to grace the AFCON stage, continues her string of triumphs at the prestigious Cannes Festival in France.

During the Cannes Festival, the self-proclaimed ‘Mama Africa‘ was honored with a distinctive medal from Midem24, adding another accolade to her already illustrious career. Demonstrating her global appeal, she shared the stage with internationally renowned American singer Stewart Copeland and French performer Jean Michel, contributing to the launch of the Midem 24 Cannes festival.

Further solidifying her international presence, Yemi Alade took on the role of ambassador for the Midem 24 Cannes Des Palais festival, a prestigious position that reflects her significant impact on the global music scene. Additionally, she had the privilege of meeting the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Cannes Island, expanding her network of influential connections.

Notably, Alade has etched her name in history as the first Nigerian artist to leave an indelible mark on the Cannes Festival Hall of Fame, showcasing her trailblazing contributions to the representation of Nigerian and African music on the global stage.

In a post on her Instagram page today, January 26, 2024, she wrote, “This young Legend made history in the last 24 hours as I printed my hand stamps in Cannes alongside legendary Stewart Copeland and Jean Michel,to kick start #midem24.
