In a recent installment of Elle UK’s “Ask Me Anything,” award-winning Nigerian artist Tems shared her relaxed fashion philosophy, disclosing that she would opt for jeans if she were to meet former U.S. President Barack Obama.

The singer conveyed her preference for a laid-back and informal atmosphere, stating, “If Barack Obama invited me for dinner, I think I will wear jeans. I want it to be a nice chill vibe. He’s already been a president. Why do we have to make things so formal?”.

Tems‘ statement has sparked diverse reactions from the public, emphasizing the intrigue surrounding her distinctive style. While some praise her for her simplicity, others playfully draw comparisons between her style in the episode and a local masquerade costume.

The conversation took an interesting turn due to President Obama’s 2023 playlist, featuring her song “Me & U.” Tems’ nonchalant attitude towards high-profile meetings reflects her commitment to authenticity and a departure from conventional fashion norms.

Tems‘ daring fashion choices and distinctive voice have positioned her as a standout figure in the music industry, and her casual approach to encounters with influential figures like Barack Obama further solidifies her reputation as a trendsetter.
