The Ibarapa Youth Awards and Social Impact Initiative (IBAYA) 2023 concluded with resounding success, bringing together a diverse tapestry of talent, dedication, and a commitment to positive change, as the community united to honor outstanding achievements and launch initiatives that will leave a lasting mark.
The convener of IBAYA, Olusoji Okegbemi in a poignant speech, reflected on the journey of the maiden edition. “Tonight was more than an awards ceremony; it was a celebration of resilience, community, and the immense talent that thrives in Ibarapa land. We acknowledge the imperfections of our beginning but embrace them as stepping stones to a future of excellence.”
The Chairman, in his address, commended the community for coming together to celebrate excellence. “IBAYA is not just an event; it’s a movement. Tonight, we witnessed the power of unity and the impact it can have. Our community has set the stage for a legacy that will inspire generations to come.”
The Chief Host of the event, Hon. Commissioner for youth and Sports, Oyo state added, “Being a part of IBAYA was an honor. I have seen firsthand the dedication and passion of our youth. This initiative is not just about awards; it’s about creating opportunities, making a positive impact, and fostering a sense of pride in our community.”

Tourism /Hospitality young persons – Sodiq Adeshina Sports young person of the year – Kehinde OWOLABI
Business Minded Young lady – Badrat LAWAL
Business minded young man – ROQEEB ALIU
Bricklayer / builder of the year – HAMEED Onilude
Gospel artiste of the year – Samuel Ojo
Meat Butcher – Ibrahim Zakariyau
Beautician – QUDUS HAMZAT
Journalist/Media/PR person – Ismail Okesipe
Innovative young man – Ojewola Olawale.
And Awards of Excellence were given to;
Hon. Dr Adebayo A. Adepoju for excellent in quality representation
Hon. Lateef A. Lawal for his excellence in Politics
Hon. Tokunbo A. Toriola for excellence in Agro-allied industry
Dr. Ayodele Awojobi for excellence in medicine and
Chief Olawuyi Folarin Alao for excellence in humanitarian services.
