Mr Eazi Conjures Art & Music In His Evil Genius Album, It’s An Absolute Explosion!
Ever since Mr ‘Eazi broke through about ten years ago, he has become a veritable maestro of both music and fashion. His brand-new 16-track studio album, Evil Genius, amply demonstrates his affinity for both.
This unprecedented partnership between the music and art industries helped close the gap between the producers of fine art in Africa and the continent’s thriving pop music culture. For this ground-breaking effort, Mr. Eazi personally selected 13 artists from eight African nations, adding the roles of art curator and patron to his already outstanding list of accomplishments.
It is undeniably a very personal project for Mr Eazi exploring topics like relatives, isolation, betrayal, romance and religion. The album is cleverly divided into separate acts, each of which resonates with a particular set of feelings and sensibleness to its listeners.
One thing gives credence to this project and that is the evident growth in Eazi’s flow – the ability to reconjure his humble music beginning and how to adequately rebound the moment in Good Lovin. A preceding line to make do with the flow was his contingent signature tune, “It’s Your Boy Eazi”.
Lack of Communication has the dynamics of a party-burster and reflective piece – a feel-good jam for lovers and celebratory moments.
Evil Genius further projects Eazi’s journey into a new realm of accomplishments, as this will be a good contender for global awards and recognitions in the coming years.
Although, the album has everything worthy to cement Eazi’s legacy, it is clear the project lacks relatability with the younger generation. It requires stealth listening to bring into clarity, the brilliance of his mind, and this would be friction for the youngins who delight in groovy, bumpy sounds.
Without a doubt, this is an incredible effort that allows us to see a genuine reproduction of a work of fashion art presented in your music, which combines voices, rhythm, tempo, lyrics, and sounds.
