“This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards will mark the culmination of our yearlong celebration of hip hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion,” noted Connie Orlando, BET’s executive vice president of specials, music programming, and music strategy.
“We are honored by this year’s roster of nominees as they carry the diversity and creativity of hip hop into the future,” she concluded. We congratulate all of the nominees on their successes as they advance hip-hop creativity.
Furthermore, the network is bringing back its original cypher segment with an exciting twist. DJs E Feezy and Runna are also lined up to keep the turntables spinning.
In addition to that, there will be a separate cypher hosted by DJ Hed, featuring Nell Grant, Maiya The Don, and That Mexican OT in a thrilling freestyle showdown.
These artists add to the list of top nominees vying for awards, with Cardi B and 21 Savage leading the pack with an impressive 12 nominations each. Meanwhile, Drake follows closely with nine nominations of his own.
In addition, Burna Boy and DJ Khaled secured an impressive seven nominations each, while J. Cole earned six nominations.
