Nigerian Afro-fusion superstar Burna Boy extends his heartfelt appreciation to his UK fans for propelling his latest album, ‘I Told Them,’ to the number one position on the UK’s Official Charts, marking a historic achievement as the first Afrobeats artist to accomplish this milestone.
‘To all my UK people who have taken this album to #1. I will never stop thanking you. You have made another one of my most impossible dreams come true,’ Burna Boy stated.
The African Giant, achieved a groundbreaking milestone on September 1st when his album ‘I Told Them,’ released on August 25th, made history by becoming the first-ever album by an Afrobeats artist to debut at the number one spot on the UK’s Official Charts.
In the headline of their article published on Friday, the Official Charts proudly declared, “Sittin’ on Top of the World! Burna Boy becomes the first global Afrobeats star to secure a UK Number 1 album with I Told Them.”
Taking to his Instagram story on Saturday, September 2, Burna Boy acknowledged the efforts of his fans in the UK, in making the number one debut possible, describing the record as another one of his most impossible dreams come true.
He added that he would travel throughout the country this week to autograph as many records as he could to express his gratitude to the fans.
