Deivid Washington: Chelsea sign Brazilian teenager from Santos for £17.2m
Chelsea have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Deivid Washington from Santos for a fee in the region of 20m euros (£17.2m).
Deivid Washington, an 18-year-old striker from Santos, has been signed by the Blues, giving their system another young and potential talent.

Deivid is the second forward to leave the renowned Brazilian Série A team this summer. They were originally listed as a prospective target for our multi-club football empire, but it appears they are not interested in such an arrangement.
Like his fellow ex-Santos man, Ângelo Gabriel, Deivid is likely to head out on loan right away, perhaps even joining BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg as well.
Deivid broke onto the scene at Santos last year. He’s made 16 appearances, scoring twice, so far this season.
Despite operating mostly as a striker, Washington is capable of playing anywhere along the line in the final third. He completed his transfer earlier today, and the Brazilian is now the newest member of our summer squad.
The talented forward began his career with Gremio, before switching to Santos in 2016. He caught the eye while featuring in the youth ranks at Santos, with his goalscoring exploits earning him a call-up to the first-team picture.
Washington scored his first goal in a 3-0 Serie A victory against Bahia a month after making his senior debut for Santos in April as a late substitution in the Copa do Brasil.
