At the Giant of Africa Festival in Rwanda, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Tyla, and Bruce Melodie excite fans with outstanding performances.

The first Giants of Africa Festival was a week-long event held in Kigali, Rwanda, to commemorate the non-profit’s 20th anniversary. It brought together young people from 16 different nations and used basketball as a means of empowerment and education.

On Saturday, August 19, a packed house attended the final concert, which was sponsored by Spotify. Davido, Tiwa Savage, Tyla, and Bruce Melodie delighted the pan-African audience with spectacular performances in front of a packed crowd.

Tyla, a Spotify Africa RADAR artist, took the stage first and sang her Amapiano, which incorporates elements of pop, R&B, and Afrobeats.

She began her performance with her Kooldrink duet, “Getting Late,” which, according to Spotify data, is also her most streamed song.

The next performer was Bruce Melodie from Rwanda, who opened with his song “Sawa Sawa,” which is his second-most streamed tune on Spotify. This song was a collaboration with Khaligraph Jones.

Bruce took the audience on a twenty-minute musical journey that included songs like “Ikinyafu,” “Saa Moya 7:00,” and “Funga Macho.”

The most anticipated performance of the day came next with Davido, who began with “Over Dem” off his recently released, highly praised fourth album, “Timeless.”

Davido then used hit after hit to take the crowd back in time, including “Dami Duro,” “FIA,” “Jowo,” “If,” “Fall,” and “Risky,” among others.

The showmanship continued, performing ‘High’, ‘Ke Star’, and ‘Champion Sound’. Finally, the moment for his most viral song arrived; ‘Unavailable‘, Davido’s most streamed song on ‘Timeless‘, and the most exported track among 18 -24-year-olds, soundtracking many dance videos.

The Giants of Africa stage’s last performance featured Tiwa Savage, the Queen of Afrobeats. Her set began with “49-99,” one of her most-streamed songs on Spotify. Next came “Ma Lo,” which was her second-most streamed song, then came a run of additional successes like “KEYS TO THE KINGDOM,” “Like,” “Pick Up,” and an acapella rendition of “Somebody’s Son.”

The crowd loved “Who Is Your Guy,” her most streamed song on Spotify, as well as “Koroba.” Tiwa’s performance, which concluded with “Stamina,” demonstrated why she is still regarded as the undisputed queen of Afrobeats.
