‘Try it in SA’: Mzansi reacts to video of Akon crowd surfing [watch].
Akon was spotted crowd surfing in a huge plastic ball in a video posted on Twitter on June 26. Twitter users dared him to “Try it in SA.”
On Monday, June 26, a video of Senegalese artist Akon whose real name is Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam crowd-surfing in a massive plastic water ball was released on Twitter and funnily, South Africans on Twitter couldn’t stop laughing and cracking jokes in response.
During live concerts, artists have been observed pulling out all kinds of bizarre tricks to delight fans. according to Rolling Stones, from playing on a revolving platform as Chris Brown did with his Take You Down performance to appearing on a floating stage like Kanye West did during his Saint Pablo tour.
It makes sense why Aliaune Damala Badara believed crowd surfing in a huge water ball made of plastic would be a good idea.
The Lonely hitmaker was seen climbing inside the enormous plastic water ball in the video before being thrown around by the audience for a while and then being thrown back up on stage.
Aliaune Damala was spotted doing his absolute best to perform while encased in the enormous ball, and he even suffered a couple of tumbles while there.
Meanwhile, South African Twitter fans challenged Akon to visit Mzansi and do the same stunt while playing this side after they saw the footage of him crowd surfing in the enormous plastic ball. Others said that if Akon performed in that plastic ball in South Africa, someone in the audience would undoubtedly pop it before he went too far.
