Libianca Outperforms Asake and Others to Win BET Award for “Best New International Act”.
Cameroonian-American artist, Libianca has won the “Best New International Act” (Viewer’s Choice), at the 2023 BET Awards.
Libianca won the category, beating off her Nigerian rival, Asake, to take home the coveted award. Flo and Raye from the United Kingdom, Camidoh from Ghana, Maureen and Werenoi from France, MC Ryan SP from Brazil, and Pabu Cooper from South Africa were among the other nominees.
This historic nomination is of the utmost importance for Libianca because she is the first Cameroonian artist to achieve such honour at the prestigious BET Awards.
The 23rd BET Awards, which were held on Sunday, June 25, honoured achievements in music, sports, television, and movies as well as other areas of entertainment.
Libianca’s ongoing efforts to pave the way have enabled her to push the envelope and shattered records.
In nations like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Switzerland, her top single, “People,” has earned Platinum certification.
Additionally, it has received Gold certification in the US, UK, France, and Denmark.
With each success, Libianca strengthens her position as a rising star, making an everlasting impression on the world’s music scene and serving as an example for aspiring musicians and performers in Cameroon and beyond.
