Guinness World Records Honours Cristiano Ronaldo for Creating History in International Football.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who has always enjoyed special occasions, delivered in typical style by scoring the winning goal the same night he received recognition from Guinness World Records for his 200th international appearance.
Ronaldo, a forward for Al-Nassr, was awarded a Guinness World Records certificate for having the most male player international caps.
The closest to Ronaldo’s tally is Bader Al-Mutawa, who was capped by Kuwait on 196 occasions.
Ronaldo celebrated appropriately by giving Portugal a 1-0 victory over Iceland in the 89th minute. Iceland had been reduced to ten men after Willum Thor Willumson was dismissed from the game.
The 38-year-old scored a poacher’s finish on Goncalo Inacio’s header and erupted in jubilation.
