Nigerian Afrobeat artists Joeboy, Teni, and Odumodublvck have delighted fans at Spotify Africa Heat as the streaming service celebrates the renaming of African Heat, it’s flagship African music playlist that has highlighted some of the continent’s hottest songs since its debut in 2017.
In order to commemorate the renaming of the playlist, Spotify invited creators, influencers, the media, and music fans to get in on the heat during an interactive event in Lagos, Nigeria, called #AfricanHeatParty.
Spotify welcomed attendees to the event, which was hosted at NextThought Production Studios in Lagos. The attendees’ electrifying enthusiasm lighted up the space.
Jess Jess Finesse opened the party and mesmerized everyone with her outstanding hosting abilities. Following her performance, the first set of DJs, Wanni X Hanni, entered the stage and were successful in keeping the crowd dancing.
Soon after, one of Nigeria’s most popular musicians, ODUMODUBLVCK, energized the crowd with his performance. He performed favourites that were well-liked by the crowd, such as “Picanto” and “Declan Rice,” and he even invited Smada on stage to play their most recent collaboration, “PAPILO.”
The celebration continued to have great energy as the night went on thanks to TENI’S appearance and demonstration of her own flair. The crowd was tremendously pleased by her unique performance, which featured some of her most popular songs, such as “Power Rangers” and “Case,” before ending with her most recent hit, “No Days Off.”
Sarz, a well-known producer and DJ upped the ante for Spotify with his distinctive sounds and dynamic mixing technique, thrilling the crowd. Soon after, one of the best in the industry, DJ TOHBAD, gave an incredible performance, enhancing the party mood even more.
As the night came to a stunning conclusion, JOEBOY grabbed the stage and dazzled the crowd with popular hits including “Call,” “Baby,” and his most recent smash, “Duffle Bag.”
The occasion confirmed that African Heat is the best place to experience African music and culture. It also demonstrated Spotify’s dedication to actively promoting the next great musical moment by assisting African musicians.
