    David Adeleke known professionally as Davido publicly came out to make a very interesting statement about how his name opened doors for his family.

    The Afrobeat Musician claimed that being known as Davido has given his family many opportunities during a recent interview with +44 Podcast.

    He noted that he is aware that his father has a lot of money, but money is not everything, and that there are some doors that he, as Davido, has opened for his family despite his father’s wealth and everything.

    He also stated that the fame he gained in his career was way beyond what his family expected to happen for him.

    “Me being Davido has opened a lot of doors for my family. Of course, my dad has a lot of money but money is not everything, there are some doors that I know that me being Davido has opened for my family, do you understand? So like, I don’t think he thinking of it like…Like I blew way beyond their expectations.”

    He claimed in the same interview that his most recent album, “Timeless,” was his last chance to produce a respectable album.

    Davido told the interviewers that his 17-track album would either make or break him.

    The singer of “Assurance” expressed his happiness that, after four attempts, fans finally welcomed his album.

    He said, “This is me telling myself the truth; this album was either going to make me or break me. People don’t want to say it to me in my face. But everybody knows the truth about the situation that is happening in their life whether they want to lie to them or not.

    “There were situations when I was recording this album I was like ‘mehn! I’m going to go like this, I’m going to go like this?’

    “So, when I slept and I woke up, my phone was not with me, so I was going crazy. I sent everybody away an hour before the album came out, I did my prayers, I laid down on my bed and slept. I now over slept.

    “I wanted to just sleep for like one hour thirty minutes so that we will celebrate. I now over slept. Woke up by 3am. I said ‘Ye!’. I was looking for my phone because I have a big suite. I went to the living room, but there wasn’t anybody in my room celebrating. I was scared like ‘wettin dey happen na?’.

    “So, I ran downstairs and I banged my assistant’s door ‘what’s going on, what’s going on?’. He said ‘Oga, take your phone, congratulations’.”
