Davido- Timeless 4.91M (first day) 14.5M (1st Week)
Following the release of his fourth studio album, Davido set a new record for the most streams in a debut week on Spotify Nigeria.
Davido launched his eagerly awaited fourth album, “Timeless‘ which features collaborations with Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, Focalistic, and The Cavemen, among others on March 31, 2023.
The album has been setting records ever since it came out, with its biggest record being its first week of listening on Spotify Nigeria.
Davido’s “Timeless” broke the previous record for the number of listens in a debut week on Spotify Nigeria just 24 hours after its release after it recorded 4.91M listens on the first day and at the end of its first week recorded a massive 14.5M streams on the platform.
Burna Boy- Love, Damini 4.89M
Love, Damini is the sixth studio album by Burna Boy with guest appearances from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J Hus, Vict0ny, Popcaan, Blxst, Kehlani, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, and Khalid.
In its first week on Spotify, the album recorded 4.89M listens and used to hold the position for the most streamed album in its first week on spotify until it was displaced by Davido’s Timeless.
Asake- Mr. Money with the Vibe 4.29M
Mr. Money with the Vibe is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Asake released on 7 September 2022, following his signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022.
The album comprises 12 tracks which were all produced by Magicsticks and features two guest appearances from Russ and Burna Boy.
It recorded 4.29M streams in its first week of release on Spotify. The album also held the previous record for the highest on-demand streams in its first week of availability.
Wizkid- More Love Less Ego (MLLE) 3.61M
More Love, Less Ego is the fifth studio album by Wizkid released on 11 November 2022. The album features guest appearances from Ayra Starr, Skillibeng, Shenseea, Skepta, Naira Marley, and Don Toliver.
It recorded 3.61M in its first week on the platform.
Fireboy DML- Playboy 1.59M
In Aug. 5, 2022, Fireboy released his third studio album, Playboy which featured appearances by Euro, Chris Brown, Shenseea, Asake & Rema. It recorded 1.59M streams in his first week.
Rema- Rave & Roses 1.26M
