“Doesn’t represent me or my religion”- Naira Marley says of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
Azeez Adeshina Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, has denied having ties with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria also known as ISIS, the deadliest terrorist organisation in history.
The “Soapy” singer claimed that even if he practises Islam, the terrorist group does not speak for him or his faith.
In his words;

The singer once encouraged a cult-like movement known as “Marlians.” At the time, his followers were well-known for their outrageous attire and eccentric lifestyles.
Nonetheless, there were no reports of his cult-like following using violence.
Following Naira Marley’s decrease in popularity and power, the movement started to lose momentum.
Marley now preaches about religion and morality on his social media accounts.

In the meantime, Naira Marley has prayed to God that he never be allowed to give up smoking.
The outspoken artist, who is known for speaking freely and was recently suspended on Twitter for campaigning for the APC, has sparked controversy.
Naira turned to the microblogging platform Twitter and made a contentious comment. In his Tweet, he prayed to his maker never to “let me see what will make me leave smoking.”
Netizens have questioned why he would say such a prayer in his tweet.
He wrote: “God please don’t let me see what will make me leave smoking. Amen “
