Phil Foden speaks on the “worst phase of his career.”

Phil Foden has described earlier this season as ‘one of the worst parts’ of his career to date after struggling with an injury.

Due to a lingering ankle ailment, the England international failed to get into games at Man City throughout the winter. He also lacked both fitness and form.

Foden has started to display the form that made him one of the most fascinating young players in Europe in recent seasons now that he is completely recovered and in the City starting Eleven.

The creative midfielder scored two goals against Bristol City in the FA Cup last week, giving him his first goals since early January.

He initially scored one in the Premier League victory against Bournemouth.

Speaking to ITV, Foden revealed that he now finally feels ‘100%’ again after a difficult period: “I feel much better with my feet.

“I feel 100% fit now and comfortable. It has been one of the worst parts of my career but everyone goes through them and it is how you react.

“[The issue was] discomfort in my feet and not playing as much. I love to play football and when I don’t I am a bit frustrated.”

As City and Newcastle United square off at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday, the 22-year-old will be hoping to keep on his excellent goal-scoring run.
