Fans defend Tems as Ugandan media outfit calls the singer a former inmate.
Nigerians have come to the defence of its star girl, Tems after a Ugandan blog referred to her as a former inmate while reporting on her recent Grammy win.
Tems recently made Nigeria proud on Sunday after bagging her first Grammy win in the “Best Melodious Rap” category alongside future and Drake for their collaboration, “Wait for You“.
While reporting on the news, an Uganadan Media outfit that goes by the name Urban Television on Twitter referred to the Nigerian diva as a former inmate.
The Media outfit claimed that Tems shot to fame in Uganda as a result of her 2020 arrest.

Recall that in 2020, Tems and Omah Lay were arrested in Uganda for alleging flouting COVID-19 rules and performing to a large crowd. After outcries from Nigerians, the two stars were released.
The post by the blog reads;
“Former Kitalya inmate, Tems wins Grammy Award, making history as the first female Nigerian artist to win a Grammy.
Tems scooped up the award for Best Melodic Rap performance for her contribution to the hit song Wait for U, with Future and Drake.
Tems shot to fame in Uganda in 2020 following her arrest alongside another Nigerian crooner, Omah Lay. The two were detained at the much dreaded Kitalya Maximum prison for flouting COVID-19 guidelines by performing at an unauthorized concert.”
