According to reports, Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected a second bid from Arsenal for Moises Caicedo.

Arsenal, like Chelsea, had their first bid for the Ecuadorian midfielder, valued at roughly £60 million, rejected late last week, prompting Caicedo to declare his intention to quit the club this month.

Brighton reacted by giving Caicedo time off until after the transfer window closed, retaining their position that their prized midfielder was not for sale.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has replied with a bid of £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons, to which Brighton has politely declined.

Brighton insists on not being compelled to sell Caicedo and has refused to put a price tag on him.

On the field, Brighton are presently sixth in the Premier League and have advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup after defeating Liverpool at the weekend.

The Seagulls are confident that they are on track for a record season, and they will not jeopardize that by allowing one of their key players to leave.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will make another bid. Chelsea, while still interested, has returned to its original January midfield target Enzo Fernandez.
