In an interview, singer Tekno revealed how Wizkid had influenced and inspired his massive hit song “RARA.”
In an exclusive conversation with Joey Akan, Tekno explained how Wizkid’s smash single “Ojuelegba” served as the inspiration for his record-breaking song “RARA,” which dominated the airwaves after its release.
The vocalist admitted that although the final production’s instrumentation was different, the acapella for the two songs actually sounded similar.
According to him, the difference is not obvious, but if you strip the beats of RARA, you will definitely get the vibe of OJUELEGBA.
Tekno opened up on how he is strongly influenced by something he liked and that was what gave birth to ‘RARA.’
He admitted that he had actually made “RARA” because he had appreciated “Ojuelegba” so much.
“I enjoyed Wizkid’s OJUELEGBA so much, I made RARA out of it. The character of beat is very different”

“Ojuelegba” is a song by Nigerian musician Wizkid from his self-titled second studio album, Ayo (2014). Wizkid wrote the song, which was produced by the record-producing duo Legendury Beatz.
The song shares its title with the metropolitan subsection of Lagos Mainland. It draws attention to Wizkid’s difficulties as an unknown musician who walked the streets of Ojuelegba in order to support his recording ambitions.
The official remix of “Ojuelegba” features vocals by Canadian rapper Drake and English grime singer Skepta.
