England faces an injury concern with Harry Kane ahead of the USA match.

Due to an ankle injury, Harry Kane might not play in England’s World Cup match against the United States on Friday.

In the second half of the Three Lions‘ 6-2 victory over Iran in their World Cup opener on Monday, England’s captain suffered a right ankle injury.

Kane was observed leaving the stadium with a limp and straps around his ankle after the game.

In order to determine the severity of his injury, Kane will now have a scan before England’s second encounter in Group B.

Kane will have little time to heal, however, before England’s second Group B game on Friday night.

If Kane is unable to play, Callum Wilson of Newcastle United, who took Kane’s place in the second half of the victory over Iran, would be anticipated to step in.

Tuesday’s matchup between England and Wales will be the group’s final contest.

When asked about Kane’s injury after England’s win on Monday, Gareth Southgate said: ‘I think Harry’s fine.

‘It looked like a bad tackle but he carried on in the game. We took him off because we felt it was a moment in the game we could do that.’
