    Tems have won accolades and set milestones in a short amount of time in the music industry. As the first African woman to win Best International Act at the 2022 BET Awards, the singer made history in June 2022.

    Following her successes, she worked internationally with Beyonce, Drake, Future, and Rihanna.

    Tems released her debut single, “Mr Rebel,” which she produced herself, in 2018 after quitting her job to pursue a career in music.

    Simi, a multi-award-winning Nigerian singer, made history in July 2022 when she became the first female artist to exceed 100 million streams on Boomplay.

    The beautiful mother of one emerged into the limelight in 2014 with her track ‘Tiff,’ establishing herself as a tremendously brilliant songwriter and performer.

    Secular Nigerian music always gets the most attention, but gospel artist Sinach made a big statement for gospel singers in Nigeria and Africa in 2020 when she became the first African Christian Musician to top Billboard’s Christian songwriter charts for 7 weeks in a row.

    Sinach made history in September 2019 when she became the first gospel performer from Africa to tour India, leading events that drew thousands of people.

    In October 2020, “Way Maker” won the Dove Award for Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards in the United States. She was the first Nigerian gospel artist to win the award.

    In August 2021, the song won the BMI Song of the year; a first for an African Gospel song.

    On 7 March 2019, the video reached 100 million views, making Sinach the first Nigerian gospel singer and the third Nigerian singer overall to accomplish the feat.

    Sinach began songwriting when she was 19 years old and began singing as a hobby in 1989.

    Tiwa Savage

    The “Kele Kele” singer made history in 2018 when she won the MTV European Music Awards’ Best African Act category for the first time.

    At the tender age of 16, the vocalist made her professional debut in the music industry by providing backup vocals for several American artists, including Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bucelli, George Michel, Blu Chantell, and Chaka Chan.

    The singer released Johnny in 2013, and it quickly became a hit, propelling her into the mainstream.

    In 2017, the music video for ‘Johnny‘ became the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube, amassing 78.8 million streams in total.

    Yemi debuted in the music industry in 2009. She won the Peak Talent Show that same year, which increased her prominence.
