Wizkid – Bad To Me
A year after his last release, Wizkid has resumed releasing new music. For “Bad To Me,” he collaborates with his producer friend P2J.
For this song, Wizkid engages Amapiano influences to guide him but it doesn’t hinder him from being the smooth-talking loverboy he always is in his songs.
However, this isn’t the first time he singing on an Amapiano beat but it is certainly the first he decided to go that route on his own solo song.
Asake – Joha
Without a question, Asake is one of the top performers right now. Even with the many accolades, the YBNl signee has acquired in less than a year, he decided to top it up with an album and off the project is one fan favourite, “Joha“. The song also has its own dance routine and is currently a favourite on Tik-Tok.
Ayra Starr – Rush
Ayra Starr is proving to be more than the Gen Z diva many people are boxing her into. “Rush” which is her first single for the year is unquestionably one of the best Nigerian songs to be released this month.
The song has the potential to be another street fave as the lyrics are literally catchy, quotable and motivational- every ingredient necessary to cook a sweet soup for the streets.
Bella Shmurda ft Omah Lay- Philo
Bella Shmurda and Omah Lay collaborated on the song “Philo,” which will appear on his upcoming album. “Philo” is full of energy and slangs. This single is coming after the success of Bella Shmurda’s last single “New Born Fela”.
Lojay- Leader
After attracting attention in 2021 with the Sarz-produced “LVN N ATTN” project, Lojay is back on the music scene ready to use his newly found fame to his advantage and he does it with the beautiful tune, “Leader“.
On the P.Priime produced beat, the singer’s evolution is noticeable.
Flavour- My Sweetie
Flavour has demonstrated that he is not about to slow down anytime soon after his great performance at the just concluded Headies Award. Another love song that Flavour, who is well recognised for being brilliant at them, has just released is called My Sweetie.
Mohbad – Peace
Peace is Mohbad’s second single of the year; it has straightforward lyrics that are relatable to the common Nigerian.
Yemi Alade – Bubble It ft Spice
For “Bubble It,” Yemi Alade collaborated with Spice, a dancehall queen from Jamaica. On YouTube, the video has already received over 4.7 million views.
Asake- Organise
I know, there are two Asake’s songs on this list, but this is what happens when you have a great album with replay value. Asake is still dominating airwaves with his “MMWTV” album and “Organise” song is one of the project’s best offerings.
