iLLBliss reveals he sat down with the traders in Amuwo Odofin to prepare for the role of “Odogwu Malay”
Nigerian rapper, iLLBliss has shared how he got himself ready for the role of Odogwu Malay in the popular Nigerian movie franchise, “King of Boys”
iLLBliss made his acting debut in the Kemi Adetiba-directed movie and its sequel series playing the role of the Odogwu Malay a gangster.
The rapper in an interview opened up on what he did to get himself ready for the role. According to the rapper, he had to sit down with traders at Amuwo Odofin in Lagos.
He stated that he had to start copying their lifestyle, dressings and mannerism. The businessmen who he sat down with trolled him for being more of a Lagos boy than an Igbo one.
iLLBliss disclosed that getting to hang out with them helped made him understand their lifestyle and why they choose their nickname.
“When I made KOB, I had to go sit down with the traders, sat down with the boys, boys that live in greenfield estate, on that apple junction road. Those guys sit down and blow millions at one sitting wearing slippers. Like they have shops in Alaba, they have shops everywhere. I had to adapt their lifestyle, I had to start dressing like them.”

Speaking about how playing Odogwu Malay had changed him and the reviews he got back from fans, the rapper stated that the role was a different ball game for him and has attracted a lot of questions from fans.
He disclosed that the role has also attracted a lot of threats for him with someone sending him a video of them breaking his CD
He said that he got calls from fans in Malaysia and Indonesia complaining of the death of his character in the KOB sequel series.
