Trinidadian-born American rapper, singer, and songwriter Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, known professionally as Nicki Minaj, has received three platinum certifications in the UK with her hit song “Starships‘.
The American superstar has hit yet another career milestone in the global music scene, becoming Minaj’s second song to reach this milestone.
Recall, The American rapper is known for her artist versatility, sharp lyrics, animated flow in her rapping, and use of alter egos and accents. She rose to fame with her debut album, Pink Friday (2010), which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

The Hip-Hop/Rap smash song “Starships“, was a song from Nicki’s second studio album “Pink Friday” which was released on February 14, 2012, and has gotten three platinum certifications in the United Kingdom.
The song is now three times British certified platinum single and has sold over 1.8M units in the United Kingdom and the official music video has surpassed 432M views on Youtube.
The “Anaconda” hitmaker is now the first female rapper with 2 triple-platinum songs in the country.
