    Sarkodie is the only Ghanaian musician that connects so well with the Nigerian music industry and that’s why he holds great respect in the Nigerian music industry, and this was before the wide increase digital streaming era and Internet exposure, both of which contributed significantly to today’s music in Africa.

    There are a lot of Ghanaian songs that have made waves in Nigeria but Sarkodie U go Kill me’ was very special, couple with his branding, adding a remix featuring vocals from Wizkid, Ice Prince, Navio, and Efe, ‘U Go Kill Me’ reached number one on different charts in Ghana and Nigeria.

    He is also regarded as one of the most influential proponents of the Azonto genre and dance, as well as one of Africa’s most successful rappers.

    Brief History

    He was born and lived in Koforidua before his parents relocated to Tema, where he began his education.

    Sarkodie got his start in the music industry as an underground rapper, competing in Adom FM’s famed rap competition Kasahare Level.

    Sarkodie graduated from Tema Methodist Day Senior High School and went on to IPMC to study graphic design.
