Top 5 M.I’s Love songs of all time
Sedi
You have probably never even heard this song before, but it’s taken off the third instalment of his Illegal Music series that was titled ‘Illegal Music 3’.
Released in February of 2016, Sedi featured a sample of the Legendary Nina Simone with M.I coming through with lyrics that could make anybody’s girlfriend melt.
Here’s an excerpt of the first verse:
“Yeah
You would observe soon that
I don’t deserve you and
I don’t have the words so thank you
I hope these can serve vocals
I am at that dead end as I reflect on
How I have been blessed by your love
And interesting you don’t care what nobody says
I’m the greatest in your book every day
It is the sweetest gift that no one can ever take away“
On Sedi, M.I is appreciative of his Lover’s love and how much he is the greatest in her book. Now wey I dey think am, who inspired this one?
Listen to Sedi Below:
Always Love
If ‘Sedi‘ didn’t catch you, no wahala. ‘Always Love‘ is here for you. This tune features Nigerian Chanteuse Seyi Shay and it is taken from M.I Abaga’s 2014 ‘The Chairman‘ Album. From the Top, M.I and Seyi Shay take the hook with harmony and sing about undying love even in the midst of ‘end of the world type’ situations.
“…Even if the sky should fall
And the stars burn out
I’ll always love you
And I’ll always be there
Even if the rain should stall
And the ocean run dry
I’ll always love you….”
Who for no like make them love am like this? Asi if that one was not okay, M. I went on to sing:
“…Baby I know that whenever we spend time apart
The sun doesn’t shine
My days are dark
Just wanna come home to you
And I’m tired of living without you
And I love everything about you
Cause you make me the happiest man in the world…“
Then he finished the song off with a Killer verse (Because he is a rapper obviously). At this point, you must fall in love. No be me go add that part sha, listen to the rest of it below:
Mine Feat Wizkid
Still in the 2014 phase, here’s another song from the Chairman Album. The featured artiste on this one was Afrobeats Superstar Wizkid who ran with the hook and M.I put in the verses for the butterfly in tummy effect. The words?
Them no dey explain this one. Listen Below:
All My Life feat Oxlade
Coming through with music from this century for this list and here’s M.I’s ‘All My Life‘ featuring Oxlade. If you didn’t understand what M.I meant by always loving, this song is the one for you. As a matter of fact, e be like say this one he wrote it when he met that his wife; because:
“…I been wishing you could be my wife…
… I’ve been waiting for someone like you…“
Nice one, M.I. You dropped this song smoothly on us.
One Naira feat Waje
This song had to be on it. I dey mad? Even if you don’t know any song on this list, you must sabi this song.
If this song didn’t make the list, people for quarrel with me. This song was the theme song for every relationship in 2008 and people loved it.
The song even fuelled dating rumours, for some people, this is THE M.I ABAGA Love song. If you think about the lyrics to this song you’d be happy about who The Guy had in mind when the song was made.
Let’s Throwback to it one more time. Enjoy Below:
