This is how Asake has been dominating the Nigerian music industry with smash hit songs.

With “Lady,” a cheerful hit with a fast tempo and good-time feelings, Nigerian Afro-pop singer Asake broke through from 2020 to 2022 dominating the Nigerian music industry with hit songs.

He continued to grow in popularity over the next two years, with singles including “Mr Money” and the high-profile Olamide collaboration “Omo Ope” in 2022.

Asake is from the YBNL Olamide owned prestigious record label, it was also the most significant part of his career as he was widely recognized when he associated with the label.

It’s pretty wild that Olamide and YBNL have yet another success with Asake, who is arguably Nigeria’s hottest act of 2022, so far – alongside Kizz Daniel.

He gained notoriety in 2020 after his freestyle “Lady” went viral, sparking a huge response from online influencers like Broda Shaggi, Sydney Talker, NastyBlaq, and others.

His excursion into music was purely fortuitous, as he began his career as a dancer in high school, performing with a variety of dance organizations and theatre companies before exploring music.

“Mr Money,” his debut single for 2020, re-emphasizes his confidence in himself and his commitment to his identity as he establishes himself as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising talents.

However, when he debuted with Lady and Mr Money, he was not widely known, Mr money was a standard hit song that trended all over the country and beyond Africa as it is.
