How Wizkid bagged 17 festival headlining appearances in the US in a calendar year.

Wizkid becomes the first African artiste to charge $1 million for a show to headline a day at the World’s Largest Hip-Hop Festival, Rolling Loud, and here is how Wizkid bagged 17 festival headlining appearances in the US.
Rolling Loud is recurring in one of the biggest music festivals held in the United States of America.

It’s quite glaring on the turnout and the recent huge responsive reception Wizkid‘s made in Lagos is gaining, especially from the foreign audience, the result of Made In Lagos is what’s playing out on the festivals billing up and down.

Obviously, it’s been a decade since WizKid surfaced in the Nigeria music scene, and yet consciously binding his name into afrobeat history with made in Lagos album.

Almost, five years ago since Drake’s ‘One Dance‘ happened, arguably one of the biggest songs in the world, introducing him internationally and broadening the audience.

The contract with Sony basically stipulates that he continues to play for a global range, a type of music that would barely connect locally perhaps, hankering tremendously on the Caribbean influences as seen on ‘Come Closer.

Wizkid had always been a risk-taker, introducing sounds at his pace, and relatively considered as the blueprints to a majority of the newbies in the Nigerian music industry.

However, talking about his craft in showmanship, Wizkid’s type of stage presence is like Michael Jackson’s incarnation, the audience went wild at the sound of his music, especially because of his breakout studio album Made In Lagos, the one they always call for headlines, the crowd puller, Wizkid is that superstar.

Made In Lagos is arguably the biggest African album of all time, aside from that the Grammy wasn’t favourable but it also breaks every great record for an African artiste.
