Finesse- Pheelz, Buju
What started as a Tik-Tok snippet, has become a full-blown song that has people in a chokehold. Finesse is more than just a song; it’s an anthem, thanks to Pheelz and BNXN.
When Pheelz and Buju dropped the snippet on social media, it immediately caught people’s attention and the two were immediately pressured by fans to put out the full song which they did in March. Not too long, the song made a major milestone on Shazam.
Sungba remix- Asake, Burna Boy
Asake is one of the artists who is finally finding a major break this year. After dominating airwaves earlier in the year with “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide, he released an EP, “Olololade Asake“. Aside from “Omo Ope“, another song that caught attention was “Sungba“.
“Sungba” is a remarkable song that has a listener mesmerized even from the intro. In the later part of March, Olamide revealed that Asake would be featuring Burna Boy on the remix and when he shared a snippet of the music video, people couldn’t hold back their excitement.
From the beat to Burna’s verse and then Burna’s sophisticated Legwork/Moonwalk dance, what’s there not to love about Sungba’s remix?
Playboy- Fireboy DML
This year is certainly Fireboy’s year just like every other year. Last year, he was the talk of the town thanks to his collaboration with Ed Sheeran on “Peru” remix and later this year thanks to his feature on Madonna’s “Frozen” remix.
As fans anticipate his 3rd studio album which he promises to drop before summer, Fireboy dropped his first single of the year, “Playboy“.
In his Usual loverboy/F*ckboy persona, Fireboy shows off his Yoruba demand alter ego in “Playboy“.
No Wahala remix- 1Da Banton ft Kizz Daniel, Tiwa Savage
Last year, “No Wahala” became a Tiktok hit overnight leading to 1Da Banton who was known as a producer before then to finally gained prominence in the music scene as an artist.
This year, he decides to switch up things a bit by featuring two talented vocalists, Kizz Daniel and Tiwa Savage on the remix, and that was a very smart decision.
The vibey mid-tempo track produced by Blaisebeatz encourages a fun life despite life’s difficulties.

Want You- Oxlade
Despite the fact that 2022 started on the wrong foot for him, Oxlade didn’t allow it to affect the quality of his music. While his S*xtapes might still haunt him, his debut for the year, “Want Me” shifted the focus back to his talent for a while.
Commander- Blaqbonez
Still on his “Sex Over Love” agenda, Blaqbonez dropped “Commander” as his first offering for the year. While he still not ready to give in to the concept called ‘Love’, he makes a good lover between the sheets as evident by the lyrics on the song.
No Pressure- Timaya
Papa Chulo refuses to be under pressure, no matter the angle it comes from.
After wrapping up 2021 in grand style with the hit song Cold Outside (featuring Buju BNXN), Timaya kick starts 2022 in a “No Pressure” mood.
The Afrobeat and Soca music reminds fans to ease their minds from their daily pressure and B.P (Blood Pressure).
Time and Attention- Rema, Chris Brown
Rema has now become the third Nigerian artist to feature American Singer, Chris Brown on a song and he does this on “Time and Attention“.
“Time and Attention” is off his debut album, Rave & Roses. The track serves as the 6th track on the album that houses 16 tracks.
Time N Affection is a departure from Rema’s usual indie sound.
The musician swears to devote all of his time, attention, and pension to his lady, as well as to never abandon her. What more could a lady possibly desire? Chris Brown’s unstoppable vocals gave the song a chance to be a hit.
Attention- Omah Lay ft Justin Bieber
Afrobeat has finally reached a point where no International artist is off the table when it comes to collaboration with Nigerian Artists.
When Wizkid featured Justin Bieber on his remix of “Essence“, it wasn’t going to be too long for another Nigerian ARtist to feature Bieber on a song.
In February, pictures of Omah Lay and Justin Beiber on a video set surfaced on the internet sending fans into a frenzy. In early March, Omah Lay finally dropped the collaboration titled ‘Attention“.
The R’n’B/Pop song is different from the usual Omah sound and given what the singer tweeted weeks back, it’s something fans should get used to.
