Mp3bullet.ng highlights Nigerian song remixes That weren’t necessary.
Sometimes Remixes are a necessary evil for some songs, especially if the song hasn’t gotten its deserved attention. Featuring the right artist could help boost the popularity of the song.
However, making a remix of a song requires smartness, it needs to be strategic and tactful because if done wrongly, can affect the reputation of the original.
While there are some good song remixes that exist in the Nigerian Music Industry, there are others that leave the listener asking if it was necessary.
In this article, Mp3bullet.ng shares some of these song remixes That weren’t necessary

Ozumba Mbadiwe remix
After years of taking a break from music, Reekado Banks made his comeback with “Ozumba Mbadiwe” in 2021. The song was a hit and given that it was released at a time Amapiano sound was the trending movement, it topped charts.
However, Reekado released a remix featuring Fireboy DML and truthfully it wasn’t needed. Fireboy is a good singer and lyrist but for some reason, his chemistry on this song was nowhere to be found. His verse feels like a freestyle that wasn’t properly recorded.
Kukere Remix
“Kukere” was Iyanya’s breakthrough hit song and gave him the fame he had been looking for, four years after he won Project Fame in 2008. “Kukere” was the biggest selling point of his career and like many artists, he decided to capitalize on its popularity by dropping a remix.
While a remix wasn’t a bad idea, the artist he featured, D’banj was the problem. With D’banj’s Star power and known ability to deliver hit, many fans who were expecting him to deliver a fire verse were disappointed.
Dami Duro Remix
This writer wasn’t even aware this remix existed until a few years back and thankfully, it would have been preferable if I had not come across it.
Davido should have left Dami Duro the way it is but I guess Davido wanted to jump the bandwagon of artists who were featuring Akon on their song as of that time.
Double Wahala remix
Another disappointing D’banj feature. Oritse Femi made waves when he dropped “Double Wahala” in 2014 and this was the zenith of his career.
The street hop singer released a remix featuring D’banj that same year and let’s say it was met with mixed reaction. The remix wasn’t exactly bad but it just wasn’t necessary.

Ajimovoix & Dice Ailes – Focus [Remix]
In 2021, the Focus Dance took over the streets of Nigeria and its beats could be heard on many DJs’ Playlists. Grammy Winner, Burna Boy was so obsessed with the song that he and his footballer friend, Paul Pogba had to show their focus dance skills at a concert in Manchester.
I guess that the song’s popularity, Dice Ailes decided to jump on the beat and finally give it vocals which the original version was lacking. However, the remix revealed why the beat was better off like that.
While Dice Ailes is a talented artist, there are some things that should be left the way they are as their beauty is in its simplicity.
