Every celebrity’s dream is to become a master of their craft and, at the end of the day, to be acknowledged by their peers.
No wonder it is a big deal when these celebrities are recognized and bestowed with chieftaincy titles by traditional monarchs.
It is even more appreciated when these celebrities are honoured in their own hometowns because it demonstrates that a large number of people are watching, particularly from home.

Davido
In 2019, Davido paid a visit to Ibusa in Delta State, the hometown of his lawyer, Prince where he was honoured with a title.
Popular nightclub owner Cubana Chiefpriest shared the exciting news on his verified Instagram page, and congratulated Davido.
“Congrats @davidoofficial On your title @prince_ii hometown Ibusa ! OBO Is Super Loved❤️ In SouthEast E no go easy for stadium,” his post read.
Wizkid
Wizkid is the only artist whose Chieftaincy title isn’t from a Nigerian ethnicity but from Uganda.
In 2017, Big Wiz paid a visit to Uganda to perform at a show and moments after he was given a heroic welcome, the singer was also given a chieftaincy title in the country.
News reports have it that he was given the chieftaincy title after he visited Buganda Kingdom Shrine in Uganda.
Laycon
The 2020 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) winner and the winner took his fans and followers on social media by surprise after sharing the news that he had bagged a title in Ogun state.
Laycon was installed as the Akeweje of Ipokia kingdom by the Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Yisa Adesola Olaniyan. Laycon posted a video of his coronation to his Twitter account.

2Baba
When a book is published about celebrities who have done exceedingly well for themselves and revolutionised Nigeria, perhaps the face of 2Baba will grace the front page.
2Baba has grown into a proud ambassador for the country over the previous two decades, so it was no surprise when a monarch from a city other than his chose to honour him and his wife.
The veteran singer was named the ‘Tafindan Kudenda’ by the His Royal Highness Galadima of Kudendan Chiefdom in Kaduna state in 2015, which translates to ‘Ambassador of Peace.’
The music singer wasn’t the only one who rose to the position of commander. His actress wife Annie Idibia was given the title of ‘Matan Tafindan’ by the chieftaincy.
He was rewarded with this for his role in the Vote Not Fight Campaign.
D’Banj
D’banj is a personality who has not only made a name for himself in the entertainment sector, but has also joined the ranks of those who have helped to put Nigeria on the map around the world.
Many people were not surprised when the artist was given a chieftaincy title in the eastern region of the country in 2018.
On January 5, 2018, D’banj’s former manager, Franklin Spice had taken to his Instagram page where he posted photos from the event.
According to him, the music star was conferred with the title of ‘Enyi Ka Nwanne’ of Amuzi Obowol Autonomous Community in Imo State.

Vector
Rapper, Vector was bestowed a chieftaincy title, Amuludun, in the Lafiaji community of Lagos Island. The Early Momo rapper in an interview revealed that he didn’t pay to be given the chieftaincy title.
The rapper shared that the title of ‘Amuludun’ is simply a title bestowed on someone who brings joy to the people and that he was given the title in appreciation of his positive works in the community.
