Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat have officially broken a Guinness World Record by being the first female rap duo to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
A remix of “Say So,” starring Doja Cat (actual name: Amalaratna Dlamini) and Nicki Minaj (real name: Onika Maraj), reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 on May 16, 2020.
This was the first time a female rap duo had charted, and “Say So” was both hit-makers first US No. 1 record.
Nicki Minaj is now a three-time Guinness World Record holder, with her previous accolades being for different musical achievements.
“Say So” became Doja Cat’s first Guinness World Record when it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
The song had a fantastic week, jumping to No. 1 from No. 6 the week before after the remix was released. Minaj has now entered the Hot 100 for the 109th time.
Up until May 16, 2020, no other artist had gathered as many singles on the US Singles Chart before reaching the top, according to Guinness World Records.
According to the official website of the Guinness Book of World Records, Justin Bieber previously held the record after his song “What Do You Mean?” reached No. 1 on September 19, 2015.

The remix of “Say So,” co-written by Dlamini and produced by Tyson Trax aka Lukasz “Dr Luke” Gottwald, is the fifth track from Doja Cat’s upcoming album “Hot Pink.”
Minaj also holds the Guinness World Record for having the most Billboard Hot 100 entries before reaching the top and for being the female artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries in history.
In an Instagram post, Nicki Minaj wrote;
“No album/single out in 3 years. Cheers to 2022 ???? this photo was me testing the lighting with a sheet I wrapped around myself cuz I was butt ass NEKKID – b4 I got dressed to do the cake photo. Not bad for an outtake we got in 5 seconds.”
