However, Wizkid’s project stands the chance to likely sweep the Global Music Album and Global Music Performance categories on forthcoming Grammy nominations.
But then, there going to be surprises on the nomination night, and with the rave of how it looks like more than the categories will come out for the star boy.
Eligibility for Grammy 2022 closed exactly on August 31, 2021, and Wizkid and RCA/SONY simply closed it strongly with every stone being touched strategically.

Global Album Strong Contender

With a Justin Bieber remix for ‘Essence,’ and the charting at No. 9 on the Hot 100, the record could get a Record of The Year, as American music capitalists seek to give Afrobeats a breakthrough across the Atlantic and also by hitting the top 10 on the billboard hot 100.
While the record is an Afro-pop record, it could also get nominated in the Urban Contemporary R&B Category.
For Americans, that record will likely sound more R&B than pop. In the same vein ‘Made In Lagos’ could get Album of The Year and Urban Contemporary album nods, outside the Global Music categories.
As of 3rd September 2021, Wizkid’s manager Jada P reveals the submission to Grammy award categories considerations which include Album of the Year, Global Music Album, Engineered Album (Dro), Song of the Year (Essence), Record of the Year, Global Music Performance, Music Video, Melodic Rap Performance (Long Time), Best Rap, Producer of the Year (P2J).
Also, the album became the first African album to be nominated for the album of the year at the Soul Train Award sends a great message on what to expect on the Grammy nomination.
