Nigerian artist Yemi Alade has been announced as one of the headliners at the first-ever ‘Earthshot’ prize awards at the Alexandra Palace, alongside Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Shawn Mendez, among others.
Multiple award-winning Nigerian songstress, Yemi Alade will perform alongside international celebrity artists Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Shawn Mendez at the first-ever ‘Earthshot’ prize honors at the Alexandra Palace.
Prince William is the driving force behind the Royal Foundation’s event, which recognizes innovative solutions to the world’s environmental concerns.
The ceremony, hosted by Clara Amfo and Dermot O’Leary, aims to dispel the pessimism many people have about climate change by demonstrating the constructive work being done to help combat the existential threat to humanity.
The effort finds some of the world’s best scientific minds, but just 15 finalists have been chosen for their remarkable work to help safeguard the oceans, land, and air.

During the occasion, five of the scientists will be recognized as the winners of a £1 million financing prize, allowing them to continue and advance their critical study, which has the potential to help restore our struggling planet.
The five winners of the ‘Earthshot prize’ will be presented by a celebrity panel of presenters that includes the Duchess of Cambridge, athlete Mo Salah, and actors Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, and David Oyelowo.
The award event comes after the premiere of the documentary series ‘The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet,’ which delves further into each of the 15 finalists.
On October 17, 2021, the Earthshot prize awards will be televised.
