The Abuja-born rapper drops a new EP that confirms his reputation as an up-and-comer to be reckoned with. While he engages in both rap and Afrobeats, YP made the choice here to display his trap talents.
Surrounded by the proud representatives of the young Nigerian, British, and even South African rap vanguard, he delivers a remarkable hip-hop performance on nine tracks, influenced as much by Atlanta trap music as by UK drill, the subgenre overtaking global hip-hop.
Not3s – 3 Th3 Album
“The 3 years it took making this debut of mine has been a hell of a journey and every time I’ve thought in the worst ways, I always remember that there are actually people in the world that genuinely love and respect what I do,” Not3s says about 3 Th3 Album, the London rapper’s third project, and debut LP.
Here, positivity has won over pessimism, and the artist expresses this feeling on every track.
Rotimi – All or Nothing
The New Jersey native Nigerian artist’s all-new album comes nearly two years after the December 2019 release of his rhythmic EP, The Beauty of Becoming.

That set’s lead single, “In My Bed” became an international sensation and peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Top Triller Global chart.
The track also peaked at No. 12 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, where it remained for 12 weeks.
“The beat, Afro-pronunciations, and cadence were the perfect storm on ‘In My Bed,'” he says. “We got way more [hits] to make and this is the best time for All or Nothing
Oxlade – Eclipse
It all seems to be changing now with the release of his sophomore EP titled ‘Eclipse’. The succinct 4-track tape gives listeners a further taste of Oxlade’s soul-stirring vocals and his ability to seamlessly match the synergy of each of his collaborators.
The production is helmed exclusively by DJ Coublon and features more of the singer’s usual romantic and relatable musical offerings including the promotional single “Ojuju”, his first solo release of the year.
Although the EP is rather short, clocking in at a 12-minute runtime, Oxlade brings the warmth of lush soundscapes and dreamy vocals into each track on the project.
