Over the years, Nigerian music has been widely accepted and Nigerian artists are now rated high all over the world as the music giants of Africa now because of afrobeat globalization, hence the RIAA certification records.
In the United States, the Recording Industry Association of America awards certification based on the number of albums and singles sold through retail and other ancillary markets. Other countries have similar awards.
Certification is not automatic; for an award to be made, the record label must request certification.

Wizkid
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known professionally as Wizkid rose to prominence after releasing “Holla at Your Boy”, the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011).
“Tease Me/Bad Guys”, “Don’t Dull”, “Love My Baby”, “Pakurumo”, and “Oluwa Lo Ni” were also released as singles from the Superstar album. Ayo, his self-titled second studio album, was released in September 2014.
Wizkid has scored RIAA certified Gold: 500,000 units records for fourth times, one featured, one co-owned, and 2 original songs (one dance, brown skin girl, come closer and essence).
Davido
David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer.
Davido rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012).

Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer.
She is known for featuring on fellow Nigerian artist Wizkid’s single Essence.
