On Sunday 11th of July, one of the saddest news broke out in the music industry stating; the popular Sound Sultan passed away after losing a battle to throat cancer.
In a bid to share his memory in our hearts forever, here are some memorable facts of the legendary Sound Sultan (late) you should know.
Life
Born as Olanrenwaju Fassai on the 27th of November, 1976, Sound Sultan is a respected singer and songwriter.
He attended Stepping Stone Nursery and Primary school, Federal Government College Ogbomoso, and Lagos State University in 1999, where he obtained a degree in Geography and Regional Planning.

Music Career
Every artiste has his or her own story of how they began their career, and Sultan’s case isn’t any different.
Initially, his early dream was to become a doctor, however, influenced by his brother, Baba Dee, he embraced music.
While in secondary school, Sound Sultan writes his own lyrics and that of his brother’s till he became his top songwriter.
By 1999, Sound Sultan had won several local talent hunt shows which helped him to release his debut single titled “Jagbajantis” in the year 2000.
Signed under the Kennis Music, the talented singer released four albums and multiple hit songs including the popular Mother Land.
However, his contract expired in 2007, after which, he partnered with his brother, Baba Dee to commence Naija Ninjas, a parent organization for a record label, production outfit, and clothing line.

Marraige and Family
For his love life, it is important to know the famous singer was also a family man.
In 2009, Sultan married his long-term girlfriend Chichi Morah, now known as Farida Fasasi from Igbo ethnic group.
Together, they birthed and nurtured three amazing children, consisting of a girl and two boys.
