    Wizkid’s “Come Closer” certified gold in the UK

    Nigerian Singer, Wizkid has added another certification to his list of accomplishments as his 2017 hit, “Come Closer” was certified Gold in the UK.

    Wizkid’s fan page on Twitter, @Wizkidsource made the announcement. According to the report, “Come Closer” was certified gold in the UK for sales of over 400,000 units

    This is Wizkid’s second gold certification as a lead artist as the song has been certified Gold in the US and platinum in Canada.

    The song was initially certified Silver in the UK.

    “Come Closer” was released as the third single from Wizkid’s third studio album, Sounds from the Other Side and features vocals from Canadian rapper Drake.

    In September 2020, Wizkid became the first African artist to be certified Gold (both) as a featured and lead artist in the United States, as Come Closer sold 500,000 units.
