Chinko Ekun has been been involved in the conversation of the street hop artists and his eminent and modest impact can be overstated.
Chinko Ekun came around in the middle of the last decade via Olamide founded label YBNL record label, balancing on the Nigerian street hop genre.
He is by the name Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel, according to him, the name “Chinko Ekun” is coined from a combination of two different words.

“Chinko”, because he was told that he looked like a Chinese during his time in the university and “Ekun” because it is his first official track
At the early, Chinko Ekun started developing a passion for music, during his first year in the university, he picked interest in commercial and rap music.

Chinko Ekun officially started his musical career in 2011, posting videos of his freestyles on Instagram. In 2013, he released “Ekun” as his first official track.
In 2014, Chinko Ekun featured in Olamide’s Street OT music album, on tracks “100 To Million”, “Bang” and “Usain Bolt”.
He appeared on Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC) 2014, where he did freestyle performance.
Chinko Ekun sings in English, Pidgin and Yoruba, focusing solely on hip hop music.
He has featured in lots of smashes hit singles such as Jahbless’s “69 Missed Calls” alongside Olamide, Reminisce, Lil Kesh and CDQ, Drew’s “Disrespect” alongside Eva and YQ, DJ Enimoney’s “Gapa” alongside CDQ and B, Banks and YBNL’s “Shoro Niyen” alongside Olamide, Lil Kesh and Viktoh.
In 2019, he made a re-introduction gesture, unveiling a smash single titled ‘Able God’ featuring Zlatan Ibile and Lil Kesh, cementing his title as one of the hottest street hop artistes in the Nigerian music industry.
