Nigerian Artist, Burna Boy has confirmed he wasn’t paid for the homecoming concert hosted for his Grammy win by Rivers State Government.
In the month of April, there was public outrage after Burna Boy was allegedly rewarded by Rivers State Governor, Wike Nyesom during his homecoming concert.
According to reports, Wike rewarded the singer with 10 million cash and a piece of land for winning a Grammy Award.
This led to public condemnation from people who believed that Burna was a hypocrite after he had on different occasion blamed Nigerians for corruption perpetrated by Nigerian leaders

However, during an interview with Ebuka, his mother, Bose Ogulu denied that he was given any cash reward. According to her, only the guest artists were paid for performing.
Burna in a recent back and forth with Nigerian Twitter Users confirmed his mother’s statement. According to him, he wasn’t given a dime and only the artists who honoured him during the event were paid.
