As Davido celebrates a decade of being in the Nigerian music scene, Mp3bullet.ng put together a list of the major achievements the singer has amassed over the years.
Davido broke into the Nigerian music scene in 2011 with his first single, “Back When”, then released Dami Duro and his debut album, “Omo Baba Olowo” in 2012. His achievements since that moment have multiplied into various aspects.

1. Multiple Award Winner:
Davido remains one of the Nigerian artists with the highest number of awards. Having over 40 awards to his name, the DMW boss who has been in the game for 10 years and counting is still very much at the forefront, releasing hit tracks.
His catalogue of awards includes Bet, Mobo, Headies, MTV Africa Music Awards, African Muzik Magazine Awards, The Headies Awards, Kora Award, Channel O Music Video Award, Ghana Music Award, Nigeria Music Video Award, Nigeria Entertainment Awards to name a few.
2. Broke records with his 2017 song, “Fall’
Fall which was released in 2017 is to date Davido’s biggest song in terms of streams, charts, certifications and impact. The song has international celebrities vibing to it. As of 2021, the song has been certified gold in the US and Canada and is a best-selling Afrobeat song.
The Song was also the longest Nigerian charting song on International charts like Billboard. It is also the first Afrobeat song to have about 200 Million streams on Youtube.
3. Owns one of the biggest Labels in Nigeria currently
Davido launched his own label, DMW in 2016 after leaving his cousins HKN label. Also known as the 30BG, the label is home to talented artists like Peruzzi, Mayorkun, Yonda, Liya and, Dremo.

4. First African To Perform At Music of Black Origin Awards (MOBO)
On November 30, 2017, Davido won the Best African Act at the MOBO Awards and also became the first African act to perform live at the awards.

From the O2 arena to major venues across the American continent, the megastar always shut it down no matter the venue he is performing at.
6. Songs featured on International Movies’ soundtracks
His Songs has been featured in International Movies like the “Queen of Katwe” (2016), and Coming to America II (2020) in which he also made a cameo performing the song, “Assurance“.
7. First African Artist to receive an award on the BET Awards main stage
Davido won Best International Act at the 2018 BET Awards, becoming the first African artist to receive his award on the main stage. In his acceptance speech, he urged patrons and American artists to visit Africa and eat the food.
8. A Good Time Album hitting One Billion Streams
In 2020, his third studio album, “A Good Time” album crossed the one billion stream benchmark making him one of the few African Afrobeat artists to achieve this feat.
9. Listed on Forbes, Time Magazine
In 2018, Davido made the list of Forbes Africa under 30 individuals that are making waves in their industries across the continent. In 2021, he was the number one person on the Forbes African Icon List.
He has also appeared in various international publications over the course of his career and TIME Magazine named him on its Influential 100 Next List for 2021.

Over the course of his career, Davido has collaborated with an impressive list of International artists like Meek Mill, Tinashe, Young Thug, Swae Lee, Chris Brown, Popcaan, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Nas, Summer Walker, Gunna, A Boogie, Lil Baby, Khalid.
