    Thus, we have decided to put together a list of 10 Nigerian artistes you probably don’t know are Muslims.

    Remilekun Kaleed Safaru aka Reminisce is an award-winning Muslim rap star, from Ogun State. In one of his interviews, the rapper once revealed the reason behind him choosing the name ‘Reminisce’

    According to him, “When I was going to choose a name, I was going to use my Muslim name, Kaleed but it didn’t sound hip-hop-friendly. I was looking for a name close to my first name, so I thought of “Reminisce” and it was cool.”

    Currently, he is still basking in his fame and soaring high in the game!

    Veteran Nigerian singer and producer, Olanrewaju Fasasi better known as Sound Sultan is a Muslim singer,  married to a Christian wife, Chichi Morah.

    While addressing the issue of religion in an interview, he revealed he did not force his wife to convert from Christianity to Islam but she tasted and fell in love, then converted.

    In his words; “No one forces anyone to do a religion. It’ just happened that she married me and she really…really was in love with the religion herself.”

    Gbenga Olamide Adedeji born on 15 March 1989, known professionally as Olamide (and also Olamide Baddo is a Nigerian hip-hop recording artiste. He was born into a Muslim family as the second child of his father Pa Adedeji(late).

    Abdulrasheed Bello known professionally as Skillz or JJC Skillz is a Nigerian songwriter, rapper, record, and television producer. He was born in Kano on the 4th of April 1977.

    In the light of this, he developed an interest and appreciation of music listening to his father’s country music records and juju music at an early age.

    Currently, he is married to popular actress Funke Akindele and they have been blessed with a set of twins.

    Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf popularly known by his stage name CDQ is a Nigerian indigenous hip-hop rapper.

    He is best known for his single “Nowo E Soke” featuring Wizkid and Masterkraft’s Indomie where he was featured alongside Olamide.

    Additionally, the rapper has released a couple of other tracks and still more to come.

    Moreover, the multi-talented actor, songwriter, and dance hall artist Baba Dee is one of the pioneer video directors that revolutionized the Nigerian music video industry.

    In addition, with five musical albums and several awards, Dare Fasasi returns to his first love, which is directing. Accordingly, he founded the Naija Ninja Entertainment Production Company with his brother and partner Sound Sultan.

    Controversial Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdukareem is known for his hit album Jaga Jaga (2004).

    As a matter of fact, he is born into a Muslim polygamous family from Kano State, Nigeria.

    Accordingly, Abdulkareem performed with hip-hop band The Remedies from 1997 until they split in 2002, due to greed among the group.

    Further, in November 2005, Abdulkareem launched his own record label, La Kreem Music, and released his fourth album, Letter to Mr. President.

    Musa Sani  Danja, is a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter, director better known by his stage name Sani Danja.

    Born to a Muslim family in the Fagge Local Government Area of Kano state, Sani is one of the most celebrated all-round entertainers to ever emerge from northern Nigeria.

    Wasiu Alabi Otedola (Pasuma) (born 27 November 1967), also known as “Oganla”, is a Nigerian film actor, and Fuji musician.

    In 1973, Pasuma enrolled at Muslim Mission Primary School, and 6 years later, he moved to Nigerian Model High School to pursue his secondary school education.

    Also, as a teen, Pasuma loved listening to King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall’s (KWAM 1) album ‘Talazo’ and he claims that the album inspired his decision to become a Fuji musician.

    K1 De Ultimate (born Olasunkanmi Wasiu Ishola , March 3, 1957), is a Nigerian Fuji musician.

    As a matter of fact, he popularized a brand of the fuji genre based on the work of the fuji creator Ayinde Barrister(late). Similarly, he is currently regarded as the godfather of fuji music in Nigeria.
