The Ugandan Police Force has charged Omah Lay and Tems to court.
Recall that Omah Lay and Tems were reported to have been arrested by the Ugandan Police following their performance in the country for a concert.
This arrest was said to have been propagated by outcries from Ugandans over authorities not allowing local artists to perform but relaxing their rules for Foreign artists.
Now, the two artists have been charged to court. According to a tweet made by the Ugandan police force today, they were supposed to be released on police bonds but it was suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the office of the DPP.
They are being charged for negligently doing acts likely to spread infectious diseases. This act by the COuntry’s police force has led to an outcry on Twitter with fans using the hashtags, #FreeOmahLay, and #FreeTems.
