Nigerian Singer, Tiwa Savage called on American singer, Beyonce, and other International Celebrities to lend their voice to the Police Brutality issue currently plaguing Nigeria.
In a Live Session on her Instagram, Tiwa Savage shared a heartfelt video on her Instagram page where she stated some of the situations Nigerians were facing in the country and how they were not fighting for basic amenities but for their lives.
She also called on Beyonce and other International brands to lend a voice to the situation.
She reminded her of how she and her team reached out to a lot of Nigerians for her Black Is King project.
She then urged her team to also use their platform for the End SARS protest because the country that birthed the Afrobeat genre which they celebrated was having a tough time.
She Said;
“I want to use my platform to call Beyonce and the whole team that reached out to a lot of Nigerians; Nigerian artistes, producers, video directors, dancers, creatives.
I’m calling on Beyonce and her team the same way they used their platform to elevate and show the world that Black Is King and how beautiful Afrobeat and Africa and our culture is.
Because the same country that birth this genre is on fire right now. Where these creative are from is on fire. So I’m calling on Beyoncé and the whole team and telling them that you cannot ignore this, that you cannot be quiet. Because we all celebrated the Black Is King.”
