    Simi sings about the joy of Motherhood in “Duduke”

    Simi released her first single of the year, Duduke in the month of April and while a lot of people thought it was just another good song by Simi, they had no idea the secrets the song came with.

    Duduke was initially supposed to be released in March but Simi in a tweet said she was postponing the release because of the current situation on ground which happened to be the coronavirus pandemic.

    Simi later released the song to the public in April and it got positive reviews but fans complained of the fact that song was short as it was less than three minutes.

    Simi dropped a special announcement on April 19th which was her birthday date that the video of Duduke was out and also left a cryptic message asking people to pray for her.

    Fans finally understood what her message meant after watching the music video where Simi showed off her baby bump revealing she was pregnant and was about six months gone. Congratulations poured in from every corner.

    Duduke music video made fans realize that the song wasn’t just a romantic song to a lover but more of a love song from a first-time mother to her unborn child.

    Simi opens the song with the lyrics, “First, let me say to you, I can not wait to see you, You are the treasure I’ve been waiting for”. The opening lyrics tell us that Simi has been waiting for that special moment and she can’t wait to have her child in her hands.

    The fun part of the song is the chorus where Simi sings,

    That’s why my heart dey beat like duduke, du du ke
    Cos na you I choose oh, ayanfe mi, a yan fe
    I sing for you on the beat like duduke, du du ke
    Baby na you I go pick oh ayanfe mi, a yan fe

    When a fan asked what Duduke meant, Simi revealed that it is just the sound a beating heart makes when it overly excited.

    The chorus paints the picture of how an expectant mother feels knowing she is carrying a life inside of her, the fast-paced beating of her heart is brought about by a mixture of Happiness, joy, fear, doubts, and worries which is common in first-time mothers.

    Inspired by the music video, Fans created the Duduke challenge where fans dance to the song with either their real baby bump or use clothes to create the impression of a baby bump.
