Nigerian singer, Ita Umoh popularly known as Sataaya releases new single “Feeding Bottle Economy”, produced by Mighty Kickx.

It’s an afrobeat song satirizing the paradoxes of Nigeria as a Nation, where every month, all the states of the federation go to Abuja, cap in hand, begging for allocation.

The song metaphorizes Nigeria as a big baby unable to do anything by herself, except awaiting cheap money from the crude oil sales, so much that once there is a problem in the international market as regards crude oil at it were today, we catch a cold. And all our so-called leaders, better still, rulers do is to share crude oil dollars at the expense of the people, the supposed owners of the crude.

He makes a comparison of Nigeria with other countries with which we were at the same level or even better than in the seventies, but have today joined the league of the First World, while we continue to wallow in abject poverty to the extent of becoming the poverty capital of the world.

In conclusion, the song asks a pertinent question: What is the economic system of Nigeria?

Some people or countries have capitalism, others communalism. What is our own home grown economic system?

I conclude that our economic system is referred to as FEEDING BOTTLISM, an economic system where the entire nation and her people depend on petrodollar for survival.

It is a system where a country as old as Nigeria continues to feed through the feeding bottle, a BIG BABY.
