The festival this year was supposed to take place from April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19 but will now take place six months later, from Oct. 9 to 11 and Oct. 16 to 18.
The reason behind the postponement of the Festival has been said to be because of Riverside County, California, which encompasses the Coachella Valley said its public health Officer, Dr. Cameron Kaiser has ordered the cancellation of Festivals due to concerns over the Coronavirus pandemic.
This postponement will also affect the scheduled performance of popular Nigerian musician and son of late Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti who is the only Nigerian to be performing in this year’s festival. He is scheduled to perform with members of the Egypt ’80 band, a group created by his late father, Fela Kuti.
