African Giant, Burna Boy said that he doesn’t chase stuff that’s running away in an interview with GQ Magazine.
Burna Boy who recently released a new song, “Odogwu” was featured on popular American Magazine, GQ which has also interviewed popular celebrities like Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Asap Rocky, Chance the rapper among others.
Burna Boy said career-wise he unlike a lot of other people, had to go through never-ending steps to get here, whereas other people have taken the elevator to get to where they are.
Burna Boy during the interview revealed that he doesn’t like giving interviews and when asked why, he said,
“Because, most of the questions you all ask are very direct, simple questions. But then I answer simply, and then you’re waiting for the rest like there’s supposed to be a rest of the answer when there really isn’t.”
When compared with Fela due their similar style of music, he countered the comparison saying,
“I don’t think anybody in their right mind would compare me to Fela,” Adding that Fela was an inspiration and his childhood hero.
“so if you think comparing me to Fela is honorable, it’s actually not, It actually makes me feel weird. Fela was Fela, and if it wasn’t for Fela, there probably wouldn’t be any me, so I don’t understand the comparison,” he states.
