Nigerian artist Tems recently shared a surprising revelation about her personal life, stating that she has never been in love.

During an interview on the Flow With Korty show, the 28-year-old artist offered her thoughts on love, challenging the commonly held belief that “love is blind.”

Tems explained that she sees love not as a blind emotion but as a conscious decision made with full awareness.

She emphasized that true love involves a deliberate choice to accept and embrace someone, flaws and all, rather than being swept away by infatuation.

“I haven’t been in love. Loving someone for me is more of ‘I see you and I still want to be in your life. Even though you annoy me sometimes, I choose you and I choose you.’ I would like to be in love, to experience something deep but really real not blind. I don’t believe that love is blind, I think if you really love someone you’re loving them with your eyes open.”

Tems elaborated on the difference between infatuation and true love, noting, “I feel like people get infatuated and they call that falling in love. If you’re blind that is not love. Love is when you’ve seen the person, their yansh is open and you’re like ‘I still want it. I still want that.’ I want someone to see my goods and be like, ‘Yeah, give me some of that.’”

Her candid comments have sparked a conversation about the nature of love and relationships, highlighting the importance of seeing and accepting one’s partner fully as part of a genuine, conscious love.
